For the record, when this Healthcare bill is passed the United States will officially no longer be a democracy and have turned into a socialist country where the minority of hardworking Americans are paying taxes and assuming debt to provide socialist programs for the city dwellers that continue to breed, outnumber us and suck off the breast of our government. They've also legalized funding for abortion to be paid for by my tax dollars and who knows what else is hidden in there. Trust in God.

Tom Coburn, R-Muskogee, and Sen.
Coburn: "This vote is indeed historic. This Congress will be remembered for its arrogance, corruption and stupidity. In the year of 2009, a Congress ignored the coming economic storm and impending bankruptcy of our entitlement programs and embarked on an ideological crusade to bring our nation as close to single-payer, government-run health care as possible. If this bill becomes law, future generations will rue this day and I will do everything in my power to work toward its repeal. This bill will ration care, cut Medicare, increase premiums, fund abortion and bury our children in debt.

"This process was not compromise. This process was corruption. This bill passed because votes were bought and sold using the issue of abortion as a bargaining chip. The abortion provision alone makes this bill the most arrogant piece of legislation I have seen in Congress. Only the most condescending politician can believe it is appropriate to force Americans to pay for other people's abortions and to coerce medical professional to take the lives of unborn children.

"The president and his allies genuinely believe that expanding government's control over health care is the way to control health care costs, improve lives and extend life spans. I don't question their motives, but I do question their judgment. History has already judged this argument and put it in its ash heap. The experience of government-run health care in the United States and around the world shows that access to a government program is not access to health care. Forty percent of doctors restrict access to Medicaid patients. Medicare already rations care and denies medical claims at twice the rate of private insurers. Nations like the United Kingdom with government run health care routinely ration care based on cost, and Canadians flock to the United States to escape waiting lines. Neither nation, incidentally, has managed to control costs as promised.

"Our health care system needs to be reformed not because government's role has been too small but because it has been too big. Since the 1940’s, government's role in health care has been expanded to the point that it controls 60 percent of our health care economy, according the non-partisan Congressional Research Service. If more government were the answer, health care would have been reformed long ago."

Inhofe:

"I am adamantly opposed to this $2.5 trillion government run health care system with its half a trillion dollar increase in taxes on Americans and nearly half a trillion dollars in cuts to Medicare to help pay for it. I am also opposed to the public financing of abortion this bill allows. At a time when senators and staff should be spending time with family celebrating the joys of Christmas, the Democrats are so committed to the idea of socialized medicine that they will stop at nothing to get it - even though the majority of Americans do not want it. To make matters worse, special deals were cut for certain states in order to buy votes."

"Finally, like many Americans, I've been disappointed by the lack of civility in this debate. The backers of the Reid bill, in many cases, have been unwilling argue for what they believe in - a single-payer health care system controlled by Washington. Their hide the ball strategy led them to rush this process and ram the bill through on the eve of the most important Christian holiday when they hoped the American people wouldn't be watching.

Read more: http://newsok.com/senators-tom-coburn-jim-inhofe-vote-against-health-care-bill/article/3427248?custom_click=headlines_widget#emailFriend#ixzz0acaMzSJo

An inconvenient truth for Spotted Al Gore

This latest revelation of an inconvenient errrr...truth has government representatives continuing to make up science to create panic to further their agenda. Al Gore is outed as a complete liar in this episode by citing recene science and facts to prove that polar ice will be gone in 5-7 years during the summers. The scientist that he quoted rebukes him and he once again skulks away to make up another lie to cover his previous lie.

Question: Can we believe anything that the government tells us unless we see it with our own eyes? Otherwise are they just making things up knowing that the American people are too fat, lazy and stupid to think for themselves and will take it at face value? HEre's the read...

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/environment/copenhagen/article6956783.ece

There are many kinds of truth. Al Gore was poleaxed by an inconvenient one yesterday.

The former US Vice-President, who became an unlikely figurehead for the green movement after narrating the Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth, became entangled in a new climate change “spin” row.

Mr Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, stated the latest research showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in five years.

In his speech, Mr Gore told the conference: “These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”

However, the climatologist whose work Mr Gore was relying upon dropped the former Vice-President in the water with an icy blast.

“It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,” Dr Maslowski said. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”

Mr Gore’s office later admitted that the 75 per cent figure was one used by Dr Maslowksi as a “ballpark figure” several years ago in a conversation with Mr Gore.

The embarrassing error cast another shadow over the conference after the controversy over the hacked e-mails from the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit, which appeared to suggest that scientists had manipulated data to strengthen their argument that human activities were causing global warming.

Read on....
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/environment/copenhagen/article6956783.ece

The report is the second compiled by Coburn and McCain on projects funded through the $787 billion stimulus bill. Many of the projects are for local cultural events, such as Shakespeare festivals or puppet shows.

Others cited include bike paths and contracts given to companies under criminal investigation.

The report states Oklahoma’s Transportation Department allotted $1.8 million in stimulus money to Oklahoma River Cruises, a service provided by the Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority in Oklahoma City. The funding was supposed to be used to operate and maintain boats owned by the service.

Another $1.1 million was awarded to Oklahoma State University professor Tammy Henderson to examine "the larger sociopolitical factors that shape grandparenthood in Alaska,” the report states.

Stimulus projects

Here are some of the projects listed in a report released by Sens. John McCain and Tom Coburn highlighting 100 projects they consider wasteful.

• Up to $5 million to install a geothermal energy system capable of heating an almost empty shopping mall in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

• $2.2 million for new pipes to pump recycled water to the Sharp Park Golf Course in San Francisco, even though the city council is considering closing the course.

• $943,000 to a private dinner cruise company for security efforts.

• $350 million to create a national map showing where broadband Internet service is available. According to the report, telecommunications companies already have the information online, and one broadband mapping consultant said his firm could create a national map for $3.5 million.

• $221,355 for Indiana University researchers to "advance our understanding of ... the role of cognitive and affective processes and condom application skills in explaining problems with condom use in young, heterosexual adult men.”

I see them on the cover of People and Us constantly when I am buying my dog biscuits and kitty litter. I often ask the checkers at the grocery stores. They never know who Nick and Jessica are either. Who are they? Will it change my life if I know who they are and why they have broken up? Why are they so important? I don't know who Lindsay Lohan is, either, and I do not care at all about Tom Cruise's wife.

Am I going to be called before a Senate committee and asked if I am a subversive? Maybe, but I just have no clue who Nick and Jessica are. Is this what it means to be no longer young. It's not so bad.

Next confession: I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are: Christmas trees. It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, "Merry Christmas" to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu. If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship Nick and Jessica and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him?

I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where Nick and Jessica came from and where the America we knew went to.

http://www.benstein.com/121805xmas.html

Happy Birthday Marines

Here's to us and those like us. Happy Birthday Brothers.

PHOENIX — An Arizona sheriff known for cracking down on people who are in the country illegally launched a crime and immigration sweep in northwestern metro Phoenix on Friday, a half day after officials in Washington limited his powers to make federal immigration arrests.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, whose sweeps have led to allegations of racial profiling, said the rebuff from Washington won't stop him. He said he can still arrest immigrants under a state smuggling law and a federal law that gives all local police agencies more limited power to detain suspected illegal immigrants.

"It doesn't bother me, because we are going to do the same thing," said Arpaio, whose deputies had arrested 16 people by Friday evening on unspecified charges. "I am the elected sheriff. I don't take orders from the federal government."

The officers were participating in a federal program that grants a limited number of local police departments special powers to make immigration arrests and speed up deportation. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement stripped Arpaio of his power to let 100 deputies make federal immigration arrests, but renewed another agreement that allows 60 jails officers to determine the immigration status of people in jail.

The sheriff's sweeps in some heavily Latino areas of metro Phoenix have drawn criticism that Arpaio's deputies racially profile people. Arpaio said people pulled over in the sweeps were approached because deputies had probable cause to believe they had committed crimes and that it was only afterward that deputies found many of them were illegal immigrants.

The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating Arpaio's office over allegations of discrimination and unconstitutional searches and seizures.

"He is doing this to thumb his nose at the Obama administration," said Lydia Guzman, president of the Hispanic civil rights group Somos America.

The sweeps have discouraged some Hispanics who have witnessed or been victims of crime to refuse to call Arpaio's deputies, for fear of mistreatment, Guzman said.

Observers who are part of Guzman's group fanned out across the area of the sweeps with video cameras to record exchanges between deputies and motorists.

Arpaio said volunteers will use cameras owned by his agency to video-record deputies so viewers can see for themselves that they weren't doing anything wrong. Arpaio responded angrily to a question during a news conference about the costs of the cameras, saying they were paid through seizures in drug cases. "Dope peddlers bought the cameras," Arpaio said.

A dozen anti-Arpaio protesters yelled throughout the news conference. At one point, they chanted: "Order equals K-K-K — here's what Arpaio has to say."

Kris Kobach, a law professor at the University of Missouri at Kansas City and an advocate of expanding local immigration efforts, said Arpaio's office — like every other local police agency — can detain people suspected of immigration violations for a day or two until federal authorities come to pick them up.

In the past, Arpaio could have held such immigrants for longer than two days and conducted investigations of smuggling rings, Kobach said.

"It's really a slight narrowing, but it's not much," said Kobach, who worked as an immigration law adviser to then-U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft from 2001-2003.

Dan Pochoda, legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union, which is representing people who filed a lawsuit over the sweeps, said Arpaio still can't pull over motorists solely because they are suspected of being illegal immigrants.

"He can't do it under the terms he is claiming. He has indicated that he can stop people without the suspicion, based on what they look like, what they sound like," Pochoda said.

Arpaio said the Bush administration had no complaints about his use of the special federal powers, but all that has changed with the Obama administration.

"What's changed?" Arpaio asked. "Politics has changed, because they don't like us going on the streets to catch illegals."

This round of sweep, Arpaio's 12th, is set to end late Saturday.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,567902,00.html?test=latestnews

Spendulus update

Well I thought I would never see the day, but I have to hand it to the current regime. They are really good at spending other people's money. Despite complaints by the Republicans about Stimulus bucks not being spent fast enough the Dems seem to be on track to spend it in accordance with their original plan.

According to recovery.gov and confirmed by Politifact.com the Dems have spent $157B of OPM as of June. Their original plan was to have $236B spent by the beginning of 2010 per the breakdown below that I have published previously. I don't agree with the spendulus. I think it was a bad idea from the start and it's filled with pork (updated by Sen Dr Tom Coburn on a weekly basis).

The republicans need to find something more factual to stand on than "their not spending fast enough." I mean really? I'm sure they can spend us into poverty faster than they are doing if we challenge them and they try harder.

Here's Your Outrage - Help take back our country

THIS IS EXCELLENT............MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY!!!!

This letter was sent to the Wall Street Journal on August 8, 2008 by Alisa Wilson, Ph.D. Of Beverly Hills , CA . in response to the Wall Street Journal article titled
"Where's The Outrage?" that appeared July 31, 2008.

"Really. I can tell you where the outrage is. The outrage is here, in this middle-aged, well-educated, upper-middle class woman. The outrage is here, but I have no representation, no voice. The outrage is here, but no one is listening for who am I?

I am not a billionaire like George Soros that can fund an entire political movement. I am not a celebrity like Barbra Streisand that can garner the attention of the press to promote political candidates. I am not a film maker like Michael Moore or Al Gore that can deliver misleading movies to the public.

The outrage is here, but unlike those with money or power, I don't know how to reach those who feel similarly in order to effect change.

Why am I outraged? I am outraged that my country, the United States of America , is in a state of moral and ethical decline. There is no right or wrong anymore, just what's fair.

Is it fair that millions of Americans who overreached and borrowed more than they could afford are now being bailed out by the government and lending institutions to stave off foreclosure? Why shouldn't these people be made to pay the consequences for their poor judgment?

When my husband and I purchased our home, we were careful to purchase only what we could afford. Believe me, there are much larger, much nicer homes that I would have loved to have purchased. But, taking responsibility for my behavior and my life, I went with the house that we could afford, not the house that we could not afford. The notion of personal responsibility has all but died in our country.

I am outraged, that the country that welcomed my mother as an immigrant from Hitler's Nazi Germany and required that she and her family learn English now allows itself to be overrun with illegal immigrants and worse, caters to those illegal immigrants.

I am outraged that my hard-earned taxes help support those here illegally. That the Los Angeles Public School District is in such disarray that I felt it incumbent to send my child to private school, that every time I go to the ATM, I see "do you want to continue in English or Spanish?", that every time I call the bank, the phone company , or similar business, I hear "press 1 for English or press 2 for Spanish." WHY? This is America , our common language is English and attempts to promote a bi- or multi-lingual society are sure to fail and to marginalize those who cannot communicate in English.

I am outraged at our country's weakness in the face of new threats on American traditions from Muslims. Just this week, Tyson's Food negotiated with its union to permit Muslims to have Eid-al-Fitr as a holiday instead of Labor Day. What am I missing? Yes, there is a large Somali Muslim population working at the Tyson's plant in Tennessee . Tennessee , last I checked, is still part of the United States . If Muslims want to live and work here, they should be required to live and work by our American Laws and not impose their will on our long history.

In the same week, Random House announced that they had indefinitely delayed the publication of The Jewel of Medina, by Sherry Jones, a book about the life of Mohammed's wife, Aisha due to fear of retribution and violence by Muslims. When did we become a nation ruled by fear of what other immigrant groups want? It makes me so sad to see large corporations cave rather than stand proudly on the principles that built this country.

I am outraged because appeasement has never worked as a political policy, yet appeasing Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is exactly what we are trying to do. An excellent article, also published recently in the Wall Street Journal, went through over 20 years of history and why talking with Iran has been and will continue to be ineffective. Yet talk, with a madman no less, we continue to do. Have we so lost our moral compass and its ability to detect evil that we will not go in and destroy Iran 's nuclear program? Would we rather wait for another Holocaust for the Jews - one which they would be unlikely to survive? When does it end?

As if the battle for good and evil isn't enough, now come the Environmentalists who are so afraid of global warming that they want to put a Bag tax on grocery bags in California; to eliminate Mylar balloons; to establish something as insidious as the recycle police in San Francisco. I do my share for the environment: I recycle, I use water wisely, I installed an energy efficient air conditioning unit. But when and where does the lunacy stop? Ahmadinejad wants to wipe Israel off the map, the California economy is being overrun by illegal immigrants, and the United States of America no longer knows right from wrong, good from evil. So what does California do? Tax grocery bags.

So, America , although I can tell you where the outrage is, this one middle-aged, well-educated, upper middle class woman is powerless to do anything about it. I don't even feel like my vote counts because I am so outnumbered by those who disagree with me.

It has what I call a high MEGO factor. MEGO is a news industry acronym for "my eyes glaze over."

Nevertheless, the plan by Barack Obama and the Democratic Congress to institute a "cap and trade" system on the production of carbon dioxide and other so-called "greenhouse gases" (the principal one being water vapor, by the way) is nothing more than a plot to destroy the American economy once and for all.

You think I'm kidding?

Here are a few facts to consider:

The plan is based on largely pseudo-science suggesting that these natural gases (not pollutants) are causing massive, catastrophic climate change.

The plan is based on the idea that increases in these gases are caused by man's activity on the planet, even though man-made carbon dioxide and water vapor represent an infinitesimally small amount of the carbon dioxide and water vapor in our atmosphere.

Historic tracking of the relationship of carbon dioxide volume in the atmosphere and temperature increases does indeed correlate a trend – but not the way Al Gore explains it. Carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere follow warming trends. They don't precede them.

There is no evidence that small fluctuations in global temperatures actually lead to devastating results. In fact, they are often beneficial – and they are cyclical.

The planet has been much colder in man's history. And it has been much warmer in history. These trends occurred before man was involved in major industry.

But let's put all that aside for a moment. Let's pretend the assumptions of Al Gore and a handful of government-paid scientists are correct – the planet really is warming because of man's activity.

The "cap and trade" system about to be imposed on Americans will do nothing to stop or reverse the amount of "greenhouse gases" spewing into the world's atmosphere – not even close.

It will, however, destroy the economy.

Both India and China are increasingly putting out more carbon dioxide than we could ever stop putting out. China has been adding a new 500 megawatt coal or gas-burning plant about every week or two, with hundreds more planned. So, even if the U.S. places on its own businesses strict limits on the production of carbon dioxide and other "greenhouse gases," India and China will more than make up the difference by adding new carbon dioxide-emitting generating plants.

That means the worldwide emissions of CO2 are gong to continue to rise even if we decide to kill the American economy and go back to the horse-and-buggy days.

We can't possibly do anything to reduce world levels of CO2 unless India and China stop developing cold in their tracks. They would indeed need to start shutting down some of those electrical generating plants and remain part of the "Third World." That is not going to happen.

And that is all you really need to know about "cap and trade" – unless, of course, you want to destroy the U.S. economy, which, I am afraid, is exactly what Barack Obama and the Democratic Congress seek to do.

"Cap and trade" is not a solution to climate change. It is a prescription for taking America down as a world power, as a free nation and as the most prosperous country on the planet.

http://bible-prophecy-today.blogspot.com/2009/06/cap-and-trade-your-freedom.html
Not the same old partisan dance for Danny Boren

Kudos to Rep Dan Boren on taking the high road when Joe Biden (my time) asked him to launch an attack on Tom Coburn's criticism of the Spendulus. A little self respect and independence may not go far in DC, but it does with me. And as for you Biden, you were just the lesser of the weevils and you've been given something to do so you won't bungle anything else. Next up, Cap and Trade.

http://newsok.com/boren-refuses-to-slam-coburn/article/3381273?custom_click=lead_story_title

Tom Coburn after Coburn released a report criticizing some projects funded by the $787 billion economic stimulus package.

"We just don’t do that,” Boren said. "It’s just not my style to critique fellow members of the delegation. We’re too small a state to get into those kinds of internal battles.”

The vice president’s office called Boren’s chief of staff June 16, the day Coburn’s report cited 100 projects, including two in Oklahoma, as being examples of waste or low-priority items funded with stimulus money.

Boren said the vice president’s office wanted him to criticize Coburn’s report and "tout” the benefits of the stimulus package, which Boren supported.

Boren said the call wasn’t from the vice president and was taken by his chief of staff. Biden’s office did not respond to two requests for comment.

President Barack Obama asked Biden to oversee the stimulus, and the vice president has been promoting it almost daily.

Coburn’s report got media attention and hit a nerve at the White House, which reacted immediately, charging that some of Coburn’s examples were not funded and others had been distorted. The White House press secretary said some of Coburn’s assertions were "flat-out wrong.”

Biden’s office released a point-by-point rebuttal of Coburn’s report that said the stimulus program was "overall, a great success. With 20,000 projects approved, there are bound to be some mistakes — when we find them, we have been transparent about it, and worked on a bipartisan basis to shut them down immediately. Sen. Coburn’s report, however, is filled with inaccuracies, including criticisms of projects that have already been stopped, projects that never were approved and some projects that are working quite well. If Sen. Coburn has found any problematic projects, we will address them immediately — but much of this seems to be little more than an objection to the Recovery Act itself.”

Coburn, R-Muskogee, responded last week with a rebuttal of the vice president’s rebuttal. Among Coburn’s claims was that the administration canceled some projects only after reading his report.

Asked why he thought Biden’s office called him, Boren said: "Things get really partisan here. They would assume that just because I’m a Democrat, I would toe the line.”

Boren has touted some of the programs funded by the stimulus package. A day before Coburn’s report was released widely, Boren praised a stimulus program to give low-interest loans to small businesses struggling with debt.

However, Boren said, "I support what Tom is doing — not just on this bill but on all bills — in pointing out waste.”

Coburn spokesman John Hart said, "It’s disappointing that the vice president’s office is playing politics rather than conducting oversight.

On Thursday, April 2, U.S. Senators Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Max Baucus (D-Mont.), Bob Bennett (R-Utah), Jon Tester (D-Mont.), and Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) introduced legislation (S.816) to restore the Second Amendment rights of visitors in national parks and wildlife refuges (its companion bill, H.R. 1684 was introduced last week by Congressman Doc Hastings (R-Wash.). The current Department of the Interior (DOI) regulations were amended by the Bush Administration in 2008, allowing law-abiding citizens to defend themselves by carrying a concealed firearm in national parks and wildlife refuges. However, early this year, a federal district court in Washington, D.C. granted anti-gun plaintiffs a preliminary injunction against implementation of the new rule. The NRA has been working for the past several years in the regulatory, legal, and legislative arenas to achieve this policy change.

"NRA would like to thank this bi-partisan group of Senators for leading the legislative effort to strengthen Right-to-Carry laws on federal parklands. Senator Crapo has been at the forefront of this fight from the very beginning, along with Senator Baucus," said NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris W. Cox. "NRA is committed to changing the old, outdated rule, and will continue to work aggressively with Congress to pass this critical legislation. NRA will continue to pursue every avenue to defend the American people's right of self-defense."

This bill would provide uniformity across our nation's federal lands and put an end to the patchwork of regulations that governed different lands managed by different federal agencies. In the past, only Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service lands allowed the carrying of firearms, while National Parks and Wildlife Refuges did not.

This move will restore the rights of law-abiding gun owners who wish to transport and carry firearms for lawful purposes on most DOI lands, and will make federal law consistent with the state law in which these lands are located.

"This is a common-sense measure. Senators Crapo, Baucus, Bennett, Tester and Lincoln should be commended for their efforts to allow law-abiding gun owners the option of protecting themselves in our federal parks and refuges. This legislation will amend out-of-date regulations and restore the Second Amendment rights of American gun owners," concluded Cox.
Please be sure to contact your U.S. Senators and Representative and ask them to cosponsor and support S. 816 and H.R. 1684! You can call your U.S. Senators at (202) 224-3121, and your U.S. Representative at (202) 225-3121.

Voter Fraud Bill to go to vote of the people

Governor Henry has proven himself once again the ACLU's champion by vetoing a bill that would require someone (of all the nerve) to prove that they are a resident of Oklahoma and a registered voter, to vote.

"Minutes after Gov.
If voters agree with the plan under Senate Bill 692, a photo ID issued by a state, federal or tribal government or a free voter ID card from a county election board would be required to cast a ballot.

Because the Senate already passed SB 692, it goes to the secretary of state’s office. It does not need the governor’s signature for approval because it is a referendum.
Weak Coffee leaves bad taste

March 27, 2009 04:37 pm

— All of the excuses of state Senate President Pro Tem Glenn Coffee for not paying his taxes or traffic fines don’t add up. He should resign his post.
This is not an issue about whether his offenses were less serious than other politicians' offenses, but a character issue, and Coffee has come up short.
Recently, The Associated Press reported that last year the IRS filed a tax lien against Coffee totaling $28,822 for federal taxes owed for almost two years.
Coffee revealed that he paid the taxes by taking out a loan, and apologized saying the reason for the failure to pay was “procrastination.”
Coffee and others have said Coffee’s mistake wasn’t as serious as the mistakes of former state House Speaker Lance Cargill, who resigned as speaker after it was discovered he made several late property tax payments and failed to file state personal income tax forms.
Coffee also said he couldn’t remember why he didn’t pay two traffic tickets he received in 2000. The Oklahoma County court clerk said a computer glitch prevented Coffee from receiving a warrant for his arrest for not paying the tickets, but that’s not an excuse for Coffee.
It shouldn’t take a warrant to make someone pay, especially a state government leader and the third in line for the governorship. Coffee had copies of the tickets he was issued. It shouldn’t have taken a reporter from a state paper to discover Coffee had not paid the tickets, and prompt him to pay them.
State law punishes state employees with dismissal if they fail to pay state taxes, a law Coffee backed.
If Coffee can’t keep track of his taxes and tickets, then he shouldn’t be. at the most, the leader in the Senate, and it’s questionable whether he should be a state senator.
This is an issue of character, and Coffee has been found lacking, terribly lacking.
Oklahomans just shouldn’t be able to expect better. They should demand better.

Just wanted to let you all know that if you pay taxes, work hard, don’t take gubment handouts, respect your family and friends and fear God, you are not alone.

</= p> What in the world is Oklahoma’s Legislature thinking? Apparently they are preparing themselves for “the next level” by having no concept or understanding of the constitution they are trying to change. While I am apparently not smart enough to find the corruption that is surely hidden in this legislation, at least Jerry Fent has read the constitution and is holding them accountable. You guys should try it.

http://newsok.com/oklahoma-state-supreme-court-tosses-bond-sale-m=easure/article/3348993

And speaking of getting ready for the next level, Glenn Coffee is apparently putting on his tap shoes to dance around the moral high ground that he used to claim as home.

He could actually qualify for the Obama cabinet with this recent track record. On the topic of Lance Cargill and his tax woes, Glenn Coffee said “He (Cargill) made a difficult decision, and should be commended for putting his caucus, the House of Representatives, and = the state ahead of himself.” Oh the view from the = moral high ground. I remember it well.

http://newsok.com/apologizing-for-tax-troubles-senate-leader-will-keep-post/article/3355820</FON= t>

Now Glenn Coffee has been found guilty of tax evasion by the IRS and had a lean put on his property until he eventually paid it.

To complicate Glenn’s situation, in 2003 he voted for a state law that says if state employees were found guilty of not paying state taxes, they would be terminated. When asked about it, his response was “Had it been state taxes, I would have had to resign under that state law.”

For all of you who are out there taking notes here are Glenn Coffee’s rules to live by: (1) Show compassion and praise the guy who steps in his own pile for doing the right thing. (2) When you do the same thing and step in your own , claim the Gilligan syndrome (that's the problem with dumb mistakes). (3) Completely disavow the spirit and intent of the legislation you voted = for to save your butt. When you voted for that bill in 2003 you know what you intended. Be honorable and step down.

President Obama’s administration taking the first steps to confiscate guns

h= ttp://www.wnd.com/index.php?faPAGE.view&pageId=92395

The Incredible Shrinking Dollar The Dollar said “I was in the pool. It was = cold.”

Well duh??? We’re cranking out gazillions in bailouts and don’t have any more gold to back it. “Hi. I’m earth. I don’t think we’ve met.”

http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/23146/

Senator Jim Inhofe (who I am a fan of for the most part) is making some silly comments about mileage taxes.

<A href="http://newsok.com/jim-inhofe-says-taxing-motorists-on-miles-driven-is-possible/article/3356300?custom_clicklead_story_title</p">http://newsok.com/jim-inhofe-says-taxing-motorists-on-miles-driven-is-possible/article/3356300?custom_clicklead_story_title</p>

So let’s double dip on people who are traveling the most. Not only are they paying taxes on the fuel = they purchase, but let’s charge then again for the mileage. = Senator Inhofe, that is the stupidest idea to raise taxes I have heard of in the history of this week.

Good news of the day. =
